Backun MoBa Barrel (Bb/A Clarinet) - Cocobolo/Grenadilla
The MoBa. This is the "orchestral" barrel according to Morrie. It is designed to be more resistant (which means: it ain't for me, but that's what makes us all unique, isn't it?), and as a result provides a focused sound that will easily carry to the 4th balcony. Or 5th. Definitely to the 5th.
Cocobolo vs. Grenadilla? That's up to you; they both feel about the same to me, so it's pretty much an aesthetic thing. Note: These barrels fit only Backun, Buffet, Royal, and Uebel clarinets—but not Selmer. Contact me if you'd like to try one for your Selmer.
