BASE NOT INCLUDED

The exact size of the mailbox BASE where it sits on the pedestal is 13 3/4" wide x 12 1/4" deep.

The pedestal should be slightly larger and the ideal height is 24" - 30" however we strongly recommend that customers check with their letter carriers so that the height of the mail slot is comfortable for them to insert the mail.

The wood support used to anchor mailbox floor to the pedestal should be around 10" x 10" x 3" high. This can be built up using weather treated stock. The most important thing is caulking and sealing the gap between the mailbox base and the pedestal so no moisture can seep in and accumulate under the mailbox, excessive standing water will damage the paint.

The mailbox base is hollow, so the wood support is not visible when installed and there are many screw holes the customer can choose from to anchor the mailbox
